Veyron L'Or Blanc: The Porcelain Bugatti

Seriously. Porcelain. Well, bits of it are...

Thought that the Veyron special edition treadmill had stopped? Turns out not to be the case, because this is the latest Veyron one-off.

It's called the Bugatti Veyron L'Or Blanc, and is a unique version of the Grand Sport, which has been created for an unnamed Dubai businessman for £1.48m.

But what's so special about it? Well, the Or Blanc has been created with the help of KPM (that's Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur, a 248-year-old ceramics company that once supplied King Frederick the Great, as if you didn't know...) and features porcelain cladding in no fewer than seven places on the car, including the centre caps for the wheels, badge and fuel cap.

It also comes equipped with a dish in the centre console that's intended to be a caviar tray.

Despite already being spoken for, the public will get to gawp at the porcelain-spangled Bugatti L'Or Blanc at the Frankfurt motor show in September.

Not to my taste, but seems well executed...if you like that sort of thing.

This is a pretty cool paint job for a not so really pretty car.

I like it!

As if the Veyron needed to be any more vulgar than it already was.

And as far as the colourscheme goes, Ford did that look much more cohesively, and effectively, a couple of decades ago.

It makes a nice change from carbon fibre, but still stupid.
A ashtray with a stencil saying Caviar on it, as if someone will need a quick snack on fish eggs when driving.

"Check this out!"

"er... door pocket?"

"Not just a door pocket, that's a holder for copious amounts of cash!"

"Looks like a regular door pocket to me"

"Yea, but it's got '1 mil' stitched into the leather"

"Nice, Boss... nice..."

So much pointlessness in the name of being unique. The owner needs to have a word with James Glukenhause (spl?) on how to spend his money in a more worthy fashion. Caviar tray my arse.

Oooooo a chavtastic Veyron. The buyer has more money than sense. Even if he has bought it as a tax write off.

My one's going to be made without a windscreen, and the washer reservoir will be filled with beer. I'm also having a robot arm fitted to the end of the cigarette lighter and a not-so-secret compartment marked 'PIES'. This will have a heating element in it and will be large enough to keep a calzone warm until I get it home. All of these accessories are similar to those made for one Bernard Manning, esq.

With every one of these special editions, a black and black original veyron looks more and more attractive

Whatever next - ceramic brakes??

I can hear the cheers in Stoke-on-Trent as I write.

That has got to be the start of a new thread - what you'd load your fantasy car with if you had the dosh!

Put me down for a Goblin Teasmaid :-)

I don't know the exact statistics, but I remember reading a piece by Rowan Atkinson about his Ferrari 456 (in Car mag, iirc) where he mentioned that Ferrari advise owners on the most 'common and resaleable' colour combinations - hence where there are so many in Rosso Corsa with black/magnolia interior.

Bugatti really should do the same...
