Wanli tyres on a Mini Approved Used car?!

My girlfriend just picked up a used Mini Cooper S Clubman from a local Mini main dealer.
I've just noticed the front o/s tyre is a Wanli S-1063, the other side is a good quality Pirelli and the rears are Dunlop Sports.
I've done a quick search on here and the general concensus is that these tyres are absolute rubbish.
I'll be calling the dealer in the morning to find out what they say about fitting cheap tyres, it's not as if they are a back street garage.
How would the PH massive approach this?

Also, do minis run on run flats, and as such is it a runflat?

Depends on what your expectations are - for most of the buying public it'll be 'will easily pass MOT/not suffer major mechanical fault within a year or so', therefore so long as it's got 4 tyres with some tread on I'd imagine the dealership sees nothing wrong with it. I would be more concerned that it has 3 different makes of tyres on it than the fact that one if them is a cheapie. I am not sure Quite how an "approved" mini can get away with being supplied with mismatching corners.
I'm not sure if it was fitted by mini or it was on the car before but it looks pretty new. Yes I'm also concerned that they have sold an approved car with mismatched tyres, it should have been picked up in pre sale inspection.
How old is the car?
I am sure there is some kind of AUC/MINI/BMW promise. Fitting different makes on the same axle is a no no. Are they supposed to be run flats? Looks at this thread for help, it's a BMW but it should apply to a Mini too.

I had the same with a 57 plate golf 1.4tsi gt. Dealer seemed to think it was fine that a car like that came with three different brands of tyre on, all with different wear. Wouldn't budge on putting some decent, matched tyres on it.
I walked away. Won't be bothering buying anything from vw approved used ever again.

Its not illegal especially if they are all the same size and rating. It was pretty ovbiously 2 makes, then one more than likley got a puncture and the tight ass dealer put the cheapest one on.I had a ding dong with the dealer when i got my megane f1. It has 4 Goodyear edgle f1 but one was badly scuffed and they said yer they will 'replace' it. So me thinking they would put another f1 on (nieve) they put some random cheap s
t on. I was mega pissed and gave them a mouth full about its a performance hatch with alot of power going through front wheels etc...and he said as long as its the right size and speed rating etc, its acceptable and showed me their terms and conditions. I must of drove it for 6 months before changing it, and tbh it was fine. Handle superbly still, and i only change all 4 as the others were getting low and thought i might aswell do them all at the same time. It didnt handle any better after having the zz3's on. I actually thought it was worse and abit more slide then before where it just seems to be sharper and grip harder, despite running odd tryes.
My guess is that the car originally had Dunlops all round. The fronts were replaced with Pirellis when they wore out.
One of the fronts had a puncture that couldn't be repaired and the previous owner, knowing they were going to chop it in soon, put on the cheapest tyre they could get ie the Wanli. Alternatively they may not have given a monkeys what was put on it.
If the dealer noticed, they wouldn't replace it as it is legal and they know that a lot of potential buyers probably wouldn't care either.
However, it does looks cheap for them to be punting an approved used car (at premium price no doubt) with budget tyres. I'd push for a matching Pirelli.

Would be useful to know the age of the car. I would also be calling BMW customer services to explain your dilemma to them. If the car is still quite young, the dealer should ensure that the tyres on the car are a premium (star rated?) brand and that there are NOT different makes on the same axle.
I wouldnt accept a wanli tyre on anything other than a banger they are a very poor tyre. I have taken them off i the past due to such poor grip in the cold/damp. Nangkang actually seem to be a lot better than Wanli (but have not had a runflat).
