He's gone away for a week and leant me his car for the weekend (megane RS250 with 19's) and on the way home I've kerbed the wheel about half an inch.

Option 1: I leave it and come clean
Option 2: try and get it repaired before he gets back.
Option 3: Resign immediately.

Over to you PH'ers :spin.

Chunk.

He's back on the 22nd. It's fixable and he's scuffed them a couple of times, but mine is the worst. Looks shocking

Does he take pride in his cars? A wheel refurb will only cost around £50, it's worth doing (a lot of places do same day service) if it'll save the hassle and possible loss of boss car privileges.

He's been good enough to lend you his car, sort it out and let him know, get them all done if it doesn't work out much more expensive

Looked again and It's not that bad. But I have also taken a small chunk out of the tyre, 235/35/19. Ouch. I have a feeling this will be expensive.....

Amazing. That's the only word. Simply amazing.

I'll get it sorted and tell him, honesty being the best policy and all that....

From the picture shown I'd say that's only the rim protector on the tyre, it's there so that if you curb the wheel it a) reduces damage to the wheel and b) protects the structural part of the tyre beneath it.

The tyre is probably fine, the wheel however may cost.

Haha. I'll just pay someone to fix it. Swap the tyres round. Job done.

I should be ok. One chap drove a Clio through a hedge and kept his job. Sure I'll be ok.

You know what he's like and none of us do.

Option 4: If I was you, first question on his return would be 'How was your holiday?' followed quickly by: 'There is something i have to tell you...'

If I was your boss, and (like most pistonhead posters) I was extremely rich and you were a poor junior starting out, and you told me you had kerbed my wheels -- and I could see you were genuinely stting yourself, and that you were willing to pay for the repair -- that'd probably be enough of a gesture and I'd let you off. However, I wouldn't lend you the car again. Then again, I am not him.

Accidents happen, don't beat yourself up over it. Just don't try to cover it up...
Thats the way I see it too, good luck he sees it the same way smile
