How to get rid of a number plate?

My newly purchased ST24 came with a very unfortunate number plate - S***ATN

Probably just me, but I don't really want to be driving about in a satin-mobile!

What would be the best way to get shot of it? Would it be worth anything?

And what will it cost me to get a new plate on it, and how do I go about doing that?

haha!! I like santa much better, but unfortunately a few people have noticed and pointed out the satin version

I never liked private plates much, but I am seriously considering one now!

May not even been one you can sell if its none-transferable. That wouldn't stop you putting a private plate on the car though.

Yep, had to do it a few times many years ago when we had a few cars for sale with 666 registrations that put people off, so we did the deal and had DVLA exchange the plates

Once had a car, sorry, once had a Marina 1.8TC with something like DEV 1L as the plate. if not that, it was pretty close (1984 and I don't remember much from then ) but it went with the car when the engine blew. It was before I realised the value of number plates. Some satan worshipper would've bought it!

I saw a press Murcielago in purple years ago and it was something like YEV1L.
