Show us your van...

I have been chatting with Mrs DT and I am contemplating getting a van for weekend trips and general debarkery (sp).
I am going to do the conversion myself and add the bits as require but a second row of seats and side windows are a must.

I am basically after some inspiration - i'm edging towards the Vivaro/Traffic/Primastar van and have a budget of around 3k.

So, show and tell...

We have a 100 bhp Vivaro and that is fantastic, far nicer to drive when compared with a Transit etc.

This is ours, ex Royal mail ldv pilot, cost the grand sum of £67.00 as a non runner, £100 pound to convert courtesy of a £20.00 scrap caravan plus bits and pieces. Roller painted with 3 coats of Dulux gloss and 3 coats of Crown garage door paint.



It's by know means the prettiest or the fastest thing but it suits our needs perfectly, and there's nothing like pulling up on site next to a 40k motorhome and looking at their faces sometimes.

They are stupidly slow though loaded with ladders on the roof, where as I found the tranny to pull harder.

But as a drive, that are 100x better. In a transit I feel you sit on it, where as the Vivaro you sit in it.

My daily driver! Not my actual van but exactly the same livery.

Bargain basement 82bhp version with 5-speed keeps me out of trouble most of the time. Slow as hell, especially loaded up with 400kg of lead acid cells, but more like a car to drive than some cars I've driven.

My £50 Escort 40bhp 1.8 bonus (I think the bonus is it has a tape deck) (that doesn't work).
