Well sometimes much like beer the best ones are free ( or darn close ) so i want to hear your ideas about free cars! How to get them (legitimately), your ownership of them if you're driving a free car now or free cars stories. In fact I know a 39 year old lady that has never ever bought herself a car they've always been free! I know another guy that''s got a van (okay not a car really) for free in exchange for painting let me know

Were these presents from her "satisfied" clients?.
Through my work I managed to procure a free Volvo 440 for my mum (well it was free to me, I charged her £50 for it) to run about in after she wrote her car off to cover the interim until she'd been paid and could go looking for a replacment. That was five years ago and she still has it, having added another 40-odd thousand miles to the 90-odd it started out with. It's cost her a set of tyres and MoTs and an oil and filter change each year since and that's it.
I've managed two, a Fiat Uno Turbo and a Fiesta 1.1 popular!
The Uno was a "non runner" and the previous owner was sick of it, so just wanted rid of it.
I went to collect it, and took some bits and pieces to try and get it running.
Took about 5 minutes to find it needed an ignition amplifier, so i fitted a new one and drove the car away!
Second one, again unloved, mate had bought a new car and just said "its got a flat battery, please take it away"

She sent me out to find a car for up to £300 so she had a result as far as she was concerned. I had to do paperwork and everything.

It's small recompense for the inevitable and unending earache I'd get if anything EVER went awry with it. She'll get it back if and when

I was certain you were a nice bloke.
Was the catch with those tickets that I would have had to sign a 4 year finance agreement or something?

I bought my first car for £1000, drove it into a wall, insurance wrote it off and gave me £1450 for it, and let me keep it. I fixed it with my mates with £100 worth of scrapyard bits.
This equals a free car and £350 profit.
It was a 1992 Ford Orion 1.3 Ghia in Moondust Silver, I loved it.

..her husband got her two or some sort of odd combination but I was pretty shocked
I'm sure many husbands pay for the cars their wives have - nothing unusual in that, surely?Haighermeister said:

I acheived a similar feat with a lovely G-reg 309 I bought a good few years ago. Paid £880 for it. About a fortnight later a muppet rear-ended me, basically caving in one of the rear corners. Insurance deemed it unrepairable so gave me £1300 for it. And I bought it back for £50.This equals a free car and £350 profit.

One tail light later, I managed to sell the car with said damage a couple of months down the line for £700 I believe.
So much win!
i got a 1.1 lx fiesta as my first car needed some work on the steering cost about £25 to fix myself had one owner and 39000 from new L reg in 2004. Had one key for ignition, one for door and one for the boot.
I serviced it and the oil was like treacle as it had only been serviced once. Head gasket went after 4 months and 8000 miles i got £500 trade in.
