xenon headlights- can be they just 'turned' frm right 2 left

hey gang

im in teh market for a new motor at the moment and am looking for a car with headlights which have a lever which allow u to make them rhd compatible or lhd compatible.

Since i live in germany, but plan to travel back to ireland (home) regularly by car, this would be a handy feature.

I heard that this is a feature of either the ibiza (when it comes with xenons (year (around) 2003) and/or the fabia (when it comes with xenons - from around 2005)).

Any help on this topic would be great.

My e39 m5 has that, but looking at your examples, that is not the kind of car you'd consider

My 997 has got shutters that block off light on the other side, but it requires removal of the headlight. It's pretty easy but it's a solid 15 minute job

Older Range Rovers have it too... never understood why the newer ones with active headlamps don't have a feature in the settings menu to switch from RHD to LHD layout seeing as they can swivel around by themselves, perhaps the beam pattern is different

I borrowed a xenon-equipped car for Le Mans this year and I was told 'the way that xenon headlights dip means you don't need to fit converters'. Wasn't entirely sure this was true, but elected to believe it for the duration of the trip (mostly driving in daylight!)

My car has the lever method too.

The new E-Class allows changing from R-L & vice versa, simple press of a button after going through a few menus.
