Being let off for fuel

Right then, at my local (BP not Pub as I can only afford one or the other) I always go over what ever I'm putting in my car by 3p maximum. And he always lets me off....
I have the money with me to pay but he just says dont worry and now I do it on purpose all the time! I dared to go up to an extra 3p on Friday and he smiled and said "don't worry" again. Is he allowed to do this? Because surely over a period of time I'm going to rack up a nice amount of free fuel, even though it won't be a lot... Free fuel is free fuel though.
I hope one day he'll say keep the tenner or something but this is yet to happen.
And does anyone else do anything like this?...

If anyone is from the Kingswinford area in the Midlands it's the BP next to the Mcdonalds and Beefeater.
He let off my friend but he for some reason insisted on paying the extra 2p.

lots of garages keep an ashtry on something similar on the counter where customers throw their loose pennies.

The clerk than uses those pennies to correct the till if anyone overfill's by a penny or two and lets the customer off

I always go to the same petrol station (Within reason) and always have a chat with the chaps in there. They're doing 2 for £2 on Redbull at the moment, the small cans.. They told me to get the bigger cans for £2. Excellent.

No, with the price of fuel nowadays I don't think me getting a few extra pence is going to destroy the company.

I agree. They probably never have people chat with them. They used to speak to my Dad all the time, and when he passed away they were all saying how much they liked him and stuff, now whenever I'm in there they ask about the family and stuff.
