Continuous insurance crap..

Apologies if done before, I'm lusting after a car on here, about to phone the seller ( have already spoken, seems fine)
But...
I haven't sold my own car yet. And I would need to swap the insurance over obviously. Does this cause me problems, and do I have to sorn it? ( I'd rather not, as I assume it'll be easier to punt with tax on it)
Should add I can store it off road, but at a friends farm, which causes v5 worries to buyers I think.
Am missing something, or is this a pain ?

Just use Day insure type insurance. I used it for 28 days when the Jeep & Jag overlapped.
