A rare bit of excellent customer service

Plenty of horror stories on here, so thought it would be nice to redress the balance in some small way.
I filled my new barge (E34 5 series) to the brim only to find it regurgitated quite a bit of fuel through rusty fuel tank breather pipes. So I phoned Dick Lovett Bristol yesterday at 9:30am to order some replacements. They didn't have them in stock (and I didn't expect them to in all honesty). So I asked about timescales to get them in. A quick check of the BMW central stock system showed them in stock in Bracknell, and they would have them in Bristol by 2pm. As promised, I got a call at 2pm to confirm they were in, and picked them up an hour later.
Cool story bro, yes?

What is "excellent" about it? They provided the service. If they sent a bloke out in a van specifically to collect it for you , then that would be "excellent".
I posted a letter the other day and it arrived the next. Is that excellent service from the post office ?
I enquired about the parts at 9:15am, expecting a week or so for delivery. They were in my hand, having been sourced from Bracknell, six hours later. The parts chap was extremely helpful and friendly, the price was good, and the totty on reception was marvellous. So I thought it was excellent.

Parts departments often give a higher quality of service, compared to sales and service, imo.
I once went to a Renault Parts department for a touch up paint for my Glacier White 200.Me to the boy "Can I get a Glacier White touch up kit ?"
The boy was staring at the screen and said "It's no use these are all in French - I'll need your paint code from the plaque inside your door.
So off we go to get the code.
Get back to the screen and he says "Here it is - Blanco Glacier"
I almost pissed myself.
Not sure about high quality of service but gave me the best laugh for some time

Same day? That is impressive to be honest. We can usually get a part next day, but same day is good.
