Do 2nd hand cars get cheaper in August/March these days ?

After running an RS4 B5 for 4 1/2 years (cost 30k in depreciation and maintenance), I sold it and bought an A3 snotter to run around, it is now getting v.boring to drive, so have an itch I can't scratch and need a better car.

Is it worth hanging on to the dull box till August as have read that the 2nd hand market always takes a dip around August/March due to new reg's and new models ?

I need help as that bloody A3 TDI engine sounds like a tractor too much, no refinement at all.

I think the second new plate per year flattened it out a lot. Of course it also depends on the type of car - drop-tops sell much better at the start of summer; 4WD cars probably sell better at the start of winter (especially after the last couple of years), etc.
