What did I see?

Yesterday, in Guildford centre, I think it might have been a classic MG, but wasn't a MG B as I know them, or a midget.

It was older than those but still looked a bit like them, rather than a well old MG TC etc

It didn't look like it had a roof, and was driven by a very pretty youngish blond lady.

Want one, the car that is.

Any clues?

They're much rarer (and more overtly sporting) than the MGB. To be honest I'm slightly surprised you can pick one up for £9,990, even needing work.

And don't worry about the age thing. I've wanting one ever since I was a kid. My art teacher had one that he'd fly around the school grounds in, often in various states of inebriation...

Just in the process of having one restored for a close friend, I'll be posting up some pics once complete. Values have climbed a lot recently, in the not too distant past you could buy a nice 1600 for £15 and a twin cam for low 20s. Now a good 1600 can be mid/high 20s and a twin cam well into the 30s. Fantastic to drive though, lots of character, looking forward to getting this one back!
