valeting wagon.. what do i get??

I am hopefully selling the supra to a member on here this weekend..

i really do not want to sell but my business is starting to take off a bit and need to go mobile valeting..

now its only weekend and out of work time i am doing.
now its not yet big enough for me to warrant spending out and getting a van
as i still need a car to take the family around in, but big enough to put all my valeting bits..
my other stipulation.. it must have go in it.. sorry i could not live with every day a 100hp diesel..

i have the 2500 i will get from the supra sale...

now i was looking a scooby wagons.. but think it will just give completly the wrong impression..
i want ti keep whatever i get immaculate..

all the audi's bm have a mega miles on (i do a 40mile round trip for work) not too worried about mpg as long as it does the same or more as the supra..

i have had loads of vaux's and never had a problem with them and think this one looks really nice... good age and good mileage too..
searched for common faults and not really found any

i have had a couple st24's they were awesome.. but i think the vectra looks better..

any ideas??

also anyone had any experince with either the above rather than just hearsay??

If you were coming around to valet my car I'd get a better impression if you turned up in a Subaru wagon than in either of the barryboy wagons you've listed - in fact if you turned up in either of them I might pretend you had the wrong address!

The Vectra uses too much fuel for the performance you get imo. £2,500 will just about get you a Skoda Octavia VRS Estate, lesser 150hp turbo models are well in budget though.

This really. Both of the chavved-up estates you've linked would give off a worse impression than a Scooby wagon. A standard one would possibly be a decent bet though.

Sharan, Galaxy, Espace?

You could kit the inside of a Grand Espace out brilliantly. Like something from Q-Division.

And V6 Espaces look cool (...), are reasonably quick and INCREDIBLY cheap for what they offer.

That Vectra is massively,massively overpriced and will cripple you on fuel costs - it's also massively chav.

The Mondeo won't be much better on fuel but is rarer and more interesting car (and a much better drive - like MILES better) - but the mods will ramp-up the insurance and 'chav' factor enormously too.

Neither is better than an Impreza in looks, performance, MPG or chav-ness really...

If you're intent on buying a moneypit there are better options as people have said and you really don't need an estate anyway (tho not a saloon perhaps).

Estates are for moving furniture - everything just flies around in the space - a hatchback would be fine (the Octavia MK1's boot is absoeffinglutely ENORMOUS anyway - at the expense of back seat space ofc.)

I ran a C5 Audi A6 avant for the first 6 months before moving onto a transporter, as you grow you will struggle with anything smaller to be honest. Keep it spotless and keep it subtle

i am sorry but i need a nice car .. people carriers are a big no no.. sorry its just me

i will go up to a van but at the moment i am just starting up and could not yet justify it..
the business plan is to get one in a year time..

I think you're going to have to decide what's more important to you, having a 'nice ride' for day to day use, or presenting the right image for your business, which in turn could make you more money in the long run which could mean you could have a smart van for work and a nicer car for pleasure.

I guess it depends what market you're aiming for - if it's company directors, professionals and the like with high end cars I'd imagine most would be put off by you turning up in a modified car due to the barryboy stigma attached, whether it's unfair or not.

I see where you're coming from but I fear most of your valeting clients wont want you turning up in a modified Vauxhall. I love big old Mercs, but I wouldn't be impressed if you showed up in one. As others have said - people carriers/vans would make the best impression
