Calais roads

I had to kill a bit of time in Calais this afternoon, so I went for a little drive.

Heading in any direction, down every type of road. And I did not come across one pothole! No ruts or holes, one road had been repaired and looked like a patchwork quilt but it was still smooth.

I realise we have probably payed for all the new roads in Calais, and we are being bent over by the EU.
But it was so nice for a change.
Just thought I would share.

Just sitting in the bar now, watching a dozen 20 something year old girls outside doing yoga in very tight lycra and low cut tops.

They've paid for their roads with all the speeding fines they rake in every year from Brits heading to/from Le Mans...
And from Brits racing back from Spa/Nurburgring to make the last ferry...
I speak from personal experience.

The best road in the area is the D940 from Boulogne to Wimereaux, Wissant, Sangatte to Calais. A beautiful, flowing, windy, coastal road which is so much more interesting than the A16
