Woke up to find my wing mirror completely smashed in this morning...
This is on top of other recent events:
a) Nicking the badge off the front.
b) Snapping the aerial in 3 places.
c) Every panel (except the roof but including the fuel filler cap) being keyed, deeply.
Probably accidental, but still s
t:
d) Someone doing a hit'n'run on my driver's side door.
It's not even a nice car! It's a 2001 plate Golf GTI. A 5 door. With the hideous orange tail lights.

Aye it is...not a particularly great area, but residential and people passing at all times of day and night.I've made a statement with the BiB, who've said they're going to make some enquiries. In all honesty, I'm expecting nothing to come of it, but at least it's recorded as an incident now.

My parents house is in a nice middle class area. Both cars have scratches down them. Dad's car had been driven into and the driver done one. Both have had mirrors knocked off.
It's a well known fact the middle classes can't drive , some actually come on here and spout rubbish like " if I ever hit a car I would leave my details " . I think you hit it on the head with the thread title. Some people have no rhyme or reason.They're just scumbags.
It's never really happened to me, apart from one time I returned to a hire car I had. Only a Fiat Uno. But it had been keyed on every panel. It didn't bother me really. It dumbfounded me more than anything. Just absolutlely no reason for it.

Are you by any chance on a walking route back from the local nightclub? We get all the Chavs and muppets coming down our lane as a short cut from the clubs at shouting and swearing at around 5am on their way to the local sink estate.
Parents house is on the road between town and hospital. That doesn't help.
My girlfriend and I are buying a house next year. Garage/off street parking is essential.

Unfortunately in that situation too. Came home to find a Nissan Micra (stolen too) hanging out of the neighbour's garage a few weeks ago. They'd rammed the door in an attempt to nick the bike they'd spotted earlier no doubt plus we've had couple of cases of smashed windscreens, kicked mirrors and other stuff. The estate itself is a nice place to live, the scum who cut through it aren't. At one point we had about 30 wkers on our street trashing the house of a guy who had earlier told them to fk off whilst they were stealing his dustcaps, all windows smashed and car ruined by the time police had arrived.Just have to hope the same happens to them when they grow up, it never does though.

Not a lot to be done really, though. CCTV isn't really an option unless there's some sort of in-car spy-cam type device available for not very much.
As you all say. Scumbags will be scumbags, I'll just have to take solace in the fact that I can go out and buy a new car...whereas they're pretty much stuck with being a scumbag!
