OK, so I've lost my service book...

... and needless to say I now want to sell the car.

Is it worth getting a replacement?

Car has done about 160k, car has been mine for the last 110k, regular-ish serviced though not at main dealers. Unfortunately I haven;t got all of the associated details of where and when I've had the thing serviced anyway, so I haven't got all the details of where & when it was serviced.

Service book is £45+ VAT (bend over!), so is it worth bothering to get a new service book?
Car is probably iro £2k..

If its the 9-5 estate in your profile dealers are selling them for £1,500 with that kind of mileage.

On that basis I'd just show any buyer any receipts for works done you have and forget about the service book.

At the mileage and value of your car I don't think a new service book is worthwhile. As already said at that price people will buy on condition.

Cheers all. Obviously I'd rather I hadn't lost it, but "not bother" was what I thought really, hence the question.

Typically, there's nothing wrong with the thing and I'm doing 450 miles/week in it, but I (and especially the Mrs) fancies something a bit newer.
