Bumped into Steve Sutcliffe this morning...

...filling up his long-term BMW 1M - wow, the car looks like pure evil, the sun shining off the Valencia Orange paint was beautiful. The pictures don't do it justice! I can't get over how much they've stretched the arches to accommodate the increased track, it looks stunning.

Really nice to meet Steve, he took the time to talk to a random stranger at a petrol station and said he might be able to take me for a spin in it sometime, which would be a real treat; there aren't many of these around and it's the first one I've seen in the metal.

I'm nowhere near being able to have one of these, but it's on my list of 'cars I'd like to own one day' now.

Somewhere on the Autocar forum Steve's posting up, "I met a right 'George' this morning..."

He actually offered to take me for a spin there and then, but I didn't have time unfortunately. Bloody nice bloke.

It really is a very good-looking car. Steve said it goes like the clappers and he prefers it to the M3. I'd have one in a heartbeat.
