Not much difference between PX na private sale values?
Discussion
Like a lot of people, been struggling to sell one of our cars.
Ad below, would welcome any comments about it.

Only had two phone calls the whole time it has been up, and both of them haven't been to look at it.
It really is frustrating trying to sell a car isn't it. It's got to the point now where i'm selling it for what i've been offered PX, just because i would prefer the cash. It's the second cheapest one for sale, the only other being damaged and much higher mileage, it's also on ebay as well. It's a shame as it really is a nice example too.
Makes you wonder how dealers are making money if they are offering what they are selling for privately. I suppose some people just take the first PX offer they are given though

Last car we sold we got around £100 more than we were offered P/X.
However, that meant we were then able to go buy any car we liked as we were paying 100% with cash.
The car we subsequently bought was in a private sale, and was £10600. A comparible spec one we had looked at in a main dealers was £11999 (sold before while I was on the phone enquiring). The dealer car had 33k miles as against 22k miles on the one we actually bought.
So all in all we came out of the deal £1500 better off and with a lower mileage car. Ok, we didn't get a warranty, but you can put a lot right for £1500.
