Morning all.

I want a private plate (i know!) - i've searched DVLA and all the rest of them and the one i want isn't available.

I searched ask mid and it's not registered as insures, but the way the plate looks might mean it was on an older car that's now scrapped.

Is there any way i can contact the DVLA and ask for a registration to be re-issued or enquire if it's even possible to put it on my car?

David.

Could it not just be on retention and the owner of it hasn't put it on a car yet?

I've sent the DVLA an email, see what they come back with.

Wouldn't it be awesome if they came back and said, "you know what, you can have it, GRATIS".

I've probably got more chance of winning the euro millions and i haven't even bought a ticket.

They might stick it in an auction for you.

Sorry for the late reply.

I got a response back from the DVLA and they did indeed say it would be up for auction and would get back to me with a rough date.

See, the DVLA are helpful.
