Hairpin tunnels

Looks like a fun road to try.

I think i recognise that! When on a road trip we came out of swizerland and down a pass into north Italy, and we had real problems with a lot of these hairpins in tunnels - the tunnels weren't lit, and my other halfs car just ddnt have enough steering lock for a lot of the tunnels. Absolute nightmare having to reverse back and forth to get round, with mad italians in little cars trying to squeeze round

Is it a one-way route or do you have to pray that you aren't going to meet a 15-year old Fiat coming the other way at 200mph?

Are you thinking of the Splugen? That runs Italy/Switzerland, large damm/ lake at the top with tunnels on the Italian side, traffic in both directions at the same time. The San Boldo is between 2 Italian towns and is traffic light controlled.

It's got traffic lights, so effectively one way.

That photo reminds me of one of those gadgets where marbles roll down a number of levels, tipping see-saws and things.

Drove this last week as part of a run to Rome. Added 30 minutes to the run from Stelvio to Venice but saved spending all day on the Autostrada. Very short with a total of about 18 hairpins of which only 3 or 4 are in tunnels. There are traffic lights at the top, bottom and in the middle.
