It seems that after a few weeks of dropping the price of my Focus ST2 it will finally be sold this week - frustrating that there's so many crap ones out there so cheap driving prices down, but hey ho.
I am pondering what to get next. Budget of around £8k, happy to save a few quid and drop down, or maybe spend a little more for something special.
I need something ideally with 5 seats, very quick, fun to drive when I fancy but luxurious enough to keep me happy when trundling up and down the M1 - cruise, nav etc is nice. I was thinking of another E39 M5, however I've had one and it would be kind of like shagging an ex: fun for while, but ultimately you wonder why you went back and remember why you got rid
That's not strictly accurate as I shifted the M as I got an offer I couldn't refuse, but I do belive variety is the spice etc etc.
Another one I am thinking of is an S4 - heard they are very thisty but I think fits the bill in most departments, and understated too, which is good.
Seen the C32 AMG Mercs are going cheap - never had a merc - would it compare to the M5 or S4?
Any other suggestions?
P.S. Contacted a few cars for sale on PH - unbelievable how many sellers sound like wannabe gangstas who for varying ridiculous reasons haven't got the V5 or service book!!! I think there should be a dedicated section for genuine sellers.

What's a Caddy V?
E55 Merc: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2011...
However this concerns me:
Fuel consumption (urban) 12.1 mpg
Fuel consumption (extra urban) 17.8 mpg
Fuel consumption (combined) 8.8 mpg
I know an M5 and S4 aren't great, but that is ridiculous!! Also wrong probably.....
