Khumo KH31 tyres

I need 4 new tyres for my Focus, 195/60/15.

These seem to be well priced and have favourable results in the web, but do any of you PH's have/had these and if so how do you rate them?

My main criteria for tyres is longevity and decent grip wet and dry.

My wife's old Renault Scenic had them. They were fine and did the job asked of them.

Completely different type of tyre I know, but I use Khumo KL71's on my 4x4. I'd never heard of Khumo, and like you read lots of praise on t'interweb about them. I bought a set and am over the moon with them. They are fantastic tyres.

I've got something similar on currently I think, on my Rover 200vi. Khumo Ecsta Sports, KU31s. Brilliant in the dry, and you can make them squeal really easily (although my limited slip diff helps that I think), BUT I find there's very little feel to them. That's fine in the dry, I've never pushed hard enough to lose grip, but in the wet they can break away without warning, even going steady. I had a very unexpected sideways moment at 35mph on the way home from work a couple of weeks ago in the wet, on a bend I normally take at 50mph, with no warning from the tyres whatsoever. General consensus over on mg-rover.org is that they're not the best tyres, due to this lack of feedback.

Good tyres Kuhmos, had them on my Astra with no complaints!

This. I have Kuhmo Ecstas in 225/40 18 on the front of my A4, and while they grip well in the dry, they are pretty crap in the wet and let go with little to no warning at perfectly reasonable speeds.

I have the same tyres (Kumho KU31), and find them good enough in the wet. Quieter than the old Continentals as well imo. They did well in wet weather braking when Auto Express tested them a while back too, and so far as mid price tyres go, I reckon they are well up to the job.

Why can no-one spell Kumho?

The KU31's have just been replaced with KU39's, which are about the same money but more favourable reviews.

I use them and like them.

Khumo, Kuhmo, it's all the same, google chrome says they're both spelt wrong anyway
