Maybe there should be a rule - eg when a car gets to around 250 left on the road or less left theres like 'listed' cars or something.

Agree completely, but to be fair to the OP, it's only a slightly exagerated version of what appears (to me at least) to be the general attitude to modifying on PH.

I know there are a great many people who are all for it, but perhaps they're just not as vocal as the nay-sayers?

It's very much not the general attitude towards modifying on PH.

st modifications will always draw criticism here, but modifying is itself a PH activity through and through.
