Thinking about buying a van as my daily runner. Must be able to take a motorbike/motorbikes so needs some storage space and ideally needs to be big enough so I can create a space for that as well as creating a living space so I can camp in it also.

Main thing is running costs and being as low as possible so that I'm not spending all my money on repairs/fuel and can actually enjoy the van as a-b transport and for lugging the bike to track days and some weekend camping.

What about a van for the bikes and all the bits, with a teeny caravan attached at the back for the weekends away racing?

If not, how much camping are you prepared to do? Transit size of Sprinter size?

Whats your budget?

Budget would be upto around 8k to get it fitted out. I think I need something between transit and sprinter size to be honest. I don't want to tow as I might as well just get a tow bar, trailer and sleep in the back of my estate. Just comparing the merits of a mid size Transit, Vivaro, ducato etc.

A high top Transit Connect and the poshest tent you can find.

If you really want a full size for occassional light use, the Vivaro/RenaultWotsit probably.

Dunno why that post posted itself twice, must have gone off in my pocket!

Vito's are nice, and there is always the option of having removable interior for dual use however aren't the Vito's costly to maintain?

Vivaro, 100k? I take it its the Diesel?

He's already said he doesn't want to tow, ok it would need the rac or aa to tow it, but even so...
