have you actually managed to buy a car via PH classifieds?

In the past I've always bought off Autotrader and other classified ads

but finding a decent car on Autotrader is rapidly becoming a pain in the arse, so found myself looking on PH classifieds...I sent out a few emails before the weekend but have not heard anything back


has anyone else had much luck using PH classified ads?

Bought two weeks ago of ph. Sold a few on ph too. Always been an easy transaction and decently described. No problems here.

Is there anywhere else that lots of dealers advertise cars apart from autotrader?

I absolutely hate autotrader, so many things about the website just piss me off to no end, it didn't used to be too bad but the revamp completely ruined it.

Four cars and two motorbikes bough in about 2 years or so. 3 cars and 1 motorbike sold via classifieds.

Aside from some of the mouth breathing "oi m8 wot iz d lwst pric u wl tke 4 it???" and the offers to swop for pocket lint or other such crack buggery, no complaints.

Sold a car through PH.

But I put my phone number on and people phoned me up.

Likewise I bought my curent car from a private advert in Autotrader, again, I used the phone.

Autotrader just seems to be a complete waste of time (literally) these days.

Despite trawling the PH classifieds when I buy a new car, none of mine have actually come from here. Suprisingly, owners forums and Autotrader have always won out.

Same here. When looking for my latest car recently, I spent ages checking PH every day for weeks thinking "It'll appear one day".

But it never did.

I just checked Autotrader once on the off chance, out of curiosity more than anything, and bugger me - there was the exact car I was looking for.

I did try selling my R5 through PH classifieds, it sorta backfired when someone called me asking details on "your Dodge Viper for sale"

The people selling and buying seem like they are generally more 'into' their cars than when I have bought through other means.

Put the CTR up on PH, but think the add on the owners club made the sale.

PH is so much quicker and easier to use than autotrader.
