Tyre size question

One of our cars has tyres 185/55/16. This appears to be an unusual size and there are very few choices for winter tyres in this size and those that are available are expensive, as are the normal tyres for that matter. However there are many winter tyre options for 195/55/16. Can I put a set of these on my existing alloys?

I wouldn't be convinced that wider tyres for winter would be a good idea. I'm sure they'd fit easily enough though, the difference is minimal.
