Insurance seems to be my main focus point at the minute, so I wanted to know how much people are paying, what their excess is and what the most they would be willing to pay is.

I personally cannot bring myself to pay over a thousand pounds, and I wouldn't want an excess over £500

I pay £1600 - not sure what the most I'd pay would be, but I say it's just one of those things that if you wanna drive you gotta bite the bullet and pay it.

My renewal letter came through the door today actually. They want £700 to insure a 2.0 Peugeot 306 (FC, 25 year old male, parked on the street, 5000 miles PA, £350 excess). Its was £650 last year, robbing bds, they only use the money to pay for Morgan Freeman voice overs.

£675, 22, 4 years NCB- on an '03 Mondeo TDCI.
over £1000 is unacceptable IMO, which is why I'm struggling to justify re-insuring the Caterham.

Running my fleet, and having the better half insured aswell, as im a frequent changer, it seemed sence to get a trade policy. In that case, im paying £698 with fully comp cover, covering my bikes too, and my named vehicles, allowing me to drive other vehicles too, which is a bonus. The other half also gets all cover, although a bike licence is missing for her at the moment.

Yes, I know ill only get trade price for my vehicles, but eh, I brought them all at far less than trade anyway!!

27 year old, 7 year NCB, 2001 Volvo S60 D5 valued at £3k. I pay £690 for the year fully comp.

Strangely an Alfa 156 2.5 V6 and a Skoda Octavia VRS are both quicker cars, probably more desirable to theives/vandals but are cheaper for me to insure by nearly £100!
