The 750iL is quite a different animal to a bog-standard 740i however.

As for comeback below £1k - unlikely "sold for spares or repair" can apply, so the £300 reduction could well be the cost of a mechanical inspection of some sort and a warranty provision of some sort.

Still, for the cost of the first tax disc on a new one - you can't really either expect or grumble too much - just enjoy it whilst it all still mostly works. I've bought some great Sevens that haven't set a foot wrong for that much money and less before so they're not all bottomless money-pits.
