What would people say is a reasonable price for a car worth around £10k that was registered as a Cat D with only panel damage? (no chassis, suspension etc damage)

I was thinking around 7.5k?

I mean one that was written off and been repaired btw not one that hasn't been repaired yet.

On rarer cars cat D with proof of what's been done and a good quality repair will sell for 75%'-80% of normal value.

Run of the mill stuff worth less.

When I have bought cat D cars it never put me off if I had details of what was done, 'more concerned if you can't see what has been done.

I would aim for 20% less than the going rate so long as damage and repair is documented.

Of course im looking at one that is well documented of what has been done. So on a car that would normally be around £10k then 7.5k would be reasonable if its a good repair, well documented etc?

Also factor in how long you are likely to keep. You or I may not mind buying a Cat D car but, many other buyers will be and will most likely expect to more than a 20% discount (compared to non registered cars) if they are interested at all.

If you plan on keeping it until it drops to banger value then go for it...assuming your insurance company don't mind.
