HPI Check

Guys,

I need to do an HPI on a potential purchase, but I have never done one before

I assume all I need is the reg number

I see there are numerous places that do them with a wide range of prices, anyone got any recomendations?

I've used these people in the past http://www.hpicheck.com/ as I understand it the very cheap one's don't offer the protection if the info is incorrect.

I also think in addition to the reg number there is a couple of numbers on the V5 that you will need.

I guess it depends on the value of the car, when buying the CSL £30k guarantee was well worth having

not sure the cheaper one's check everything, If I remember correctly they don't check for finance.

Cartextxheck even links to the sites with guarantees so I'd suggest their £3 check was quite worthless should anything go wrong.

Ah cool cheers, it seems mycarcheck.com do 3 levels depending on the value of the car, so I can get one for 9.95, cheers
