Video: Alfa Romeo 4C On The Move

Alfa's mid-engined coupe concept struts its stuff on video

Let's face it, none of us can really be bothered to do any proper work on a Friday, which is why we like to bring you a video story or two come the end of the working week here on PH.

You see, not only does a video distract you from doing any properly useful activity for the duration of it, but it also allows us to put a story up on the PH homepage without doing much in the way of real work.

But there is some justification in this particular video beyond mere Friday laziness, because it's the first chance we've had to see the Alfa 4C - you know, the mid-engined concept thingy from the Geneva show - on the move.

There's only one thing that's confusing us. At the end it says "4C- the most enjoyable form of intelligence". What exactly does that mean?

be interesting to see how much they end up being if they are built, because at the right price it would lure be away from the Elise.

Much as I like Alfa's I don't think that video really qualifies as "4C on the move"!

I seem to remember that they are aiming at the high end Audi TT market in price. So in the UK I believe that would make it about £35 - 45k

Amazing if they can make a carbon chassis that cheap but it goes on the shopping list if they do.

Still insurance and repair bills may make it a nightmare to own.

It aint that cheap. Not by a long way. The price will be north of £50k.

The Abarth version is cheaper still (so they say)

Is this the Abarth roadster that Lotus were rumoured to be helping them with?
As I said, I will be amazed if they can make the chassis that cheaply. I know its supposed to be a new technique for doing the pressings or something but even so.

I thouth it was going to be basically a roadster version of the Alfa with a detuned or smaller engine?!

It has made me think that this would be a great starting point for a Lancia Montecarlo!

Too bad the Italians haven't figured out the concept of aspect ratios yet. -_-
And considering it's Friday, I'm in no mood download and edit the vid...

Anywho, I can't wait to see the actual car on an actual road! It looks stunning and will probably go like stink!
I'm not sure about the automatic twin clutch setup though. No matter how excellent the motoring press claim those systems are, I still prefer a "proper" manual gearbox.
But who knows, it might be on the options list?

What on earth is 4kg/hp in real money?! Who has ever measured weight to power ratio not the other way round????
They probably figured it will sound even more impressive than 250hp per ton.

One assumes 4Kg/BHP = 250BHP/Tonne?

As an Alfa owner/fan, this leaves me cold.

What does this offer that the Elise hasn't already completely nailed?

Manual gearbox and V6 engine please or don't bother.

Yep, just a load of b******t buzzwords and a PS3 GT5 replay. What a waste of time.
