Subaru Impreza, a poor mans Evo?

What is the general consensus on this? I am looking at selling my Clio Trophy and getting a Subaru or Evo, Subarus appear to be cheaper and more more chav but I cant help but think they look much better.

Subaru don't have the service intervals so attract the people that may be classed as chavs.
Depends what you want from the car, I bought an Evo but would have bought a Subaru (but a classic P1 or version 6 type r)
Theyre not chav if you select the model!!

Who cares what image a car has if it's something that fits your requirements? I may be wrong, but weren't Subaru Imprezas out before the Lancer Evo?
