It's all a matter of common sense!
Stopping in front of a row of houses may not have been the the best idea early on a Sunday morning, especially with 30+ loud cars.
This needs to be self policed, most of the tunnel running loop is away from houses, maybe it would be better to regroup on the Southbound onslip road which is away from houses, is not very busy and should easily hold up to 50 cars without causing any problems.
Obviously, when coming off the A3 Northbound after coming through the tunnel the 40MPH limit should be observed and noise kept to a minimum to avoid upsetting the residents.
Having said this though, it will probably be one of the less-experienced (non-PH) groups who end up ruining it for everyone!
Although no laws are specifically being broken you can be sure that the police (if called too often) will start going over the cars with a fine-toothed comb and may start handing out S-59 orders for noise and anti-social driving!

Having been there on Sunday, reading the HH tunnel run thread and now this one the simple solution has already been mentioned, change the priority of the Junction at the top of the sliproad.
Surely there must be a couple of PH'ers local to the tunnel who can start this movement It should probably be away from PH to start so we don't get labled as the louts causing the noise issue, but once linked i'm sure we would all join up, esecially if it meant a chance to keep this as fun thing without it disturbing the locals and causing us petrol heads an even worse reputation.
