I can’t seem to help myself remonstrating with people when I see them driving and using a hand held mobile phone.

I shout at them from my car or bicycle, and pull along side and shout at them from my motorbike.

It’s got to be only a matter of time ….

Always regret letting someone out of a junction when I later realise they're on their mobile! biggrin

TBH I find myself shouting at people to get off their phone. They are idiots who are putting other people at risk. On Saturday the car I was in overtook some van driver with one hand on his phone the other on the gear stick. Sitting in the passenger seat of my Dad's 3 Series I was thinking how fun it would have been to pull out a warrant card and pull him over.

Wouldn't he then be using his mobile or some hand held device?

I do agree it's annoying to watch but i'm pretty sure most must get caught because they're far from subtle about it.

A Sumink is a fookin copper who gives it the bigun quite often, in fact some people would argue they give it the bigun a little too mutch.

You wouldn't ignore someone smoking in your local pub you'd comment on it for sure wouldn't you? that's essentially the same thing yet nowhere near as dangerous so pipe down. I suspect you are probably one of the people he is referring to who drive whilst talking on their mobile phone, infact from your spelling I suspect you're also the type to hang around on McDonalds car park comparing how gash your Vauxhall stbox is with your mates.

Also:

Helmet - You are one.

Did you do the same before the new law was introduced?

Crack Fox, do you not find that now it's illegal and you actually think about it properly it is actually pretty dangerous?

Before the HASAWA noone thought about wearing a hard hat and other PPE at work but now if you see someone not doing so you think what an idiot.

I think anything done at inappropriate times can be dangerous.

I think there are relatively few things which are de-facto dangerous irrespective of circumstance.

A bit of paper that says you can/cannot do it does not make it suddenly change in danger (except in the case of texting where you actively need to hide it now, whereas before you could do it whilst watching the road and not looking for cops left right and centre)

Note: I don't text when I drive, too much of a PITA with an iphone, but the old ones with a little raised dot on the 5-key could basically be texted blind pre-legislation wink

Imo, this law was a response to the "somebody must do something!" mob. My basis for that is that it is poor, ill thought out OR incomplete due to practical reasons imo.
