Great Cars in Awful Colours

I adore the 300SL, it's one of my favourite cars, but I'd still have it in almost any colour other than that. I saw a yellow one (well it was probably a replica) once and it looked superb. Silver with a red interior isn't tooo bad, but silver and black is horrible. ETA: To be fair though, silver does work better on some older cars, because they aren't generally as bulbous and slab-like as modern ones.

I still think it's a bit strong saying anything in silver, grey or black. Some cars just look odd in anything but one of those, I'm thinking big luxury saloons such as the A8, S Class, Lexus LS - these just look right in silver, black or a dark grey metallic.
I regularly see an AMG SL55 in solid red, it just looks nasty, like this

I disagree. I think they all look absolutely horrible in silver/grey.Black I don't mind so much, but it still shows a distinct lack of imagination. I could live with a black car, but I will probably never own a silver or grey one.

Maybe a winter colour, I walk past a 1 Series everyday that looks like a freshly laid turd; and I like any car that isn't a standard.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
