Some of the quoted comments in the article really show that people just really like to complain given half the chance.

I clocked that. Did anyone else not think it was a subtle joke about the types of people who buy these tree-hugging super-minis?

I suggested this to the other half. It wasn't done by accident for sure.

+1

This is exactly what I said to dad while watching the show.

Clarkson and May, obviously didn't have a passing care that a disabled person might have needed those spaces.

I'm sure Jeremy Clarkson especially would not feel contrite about parking in a disabled bay - it shows a lack of feeling and care and a total lack of compassion

A little presumptuous? They may not have noticed. It’s a bit harsh to practically brand them heartless bds.

If they've driven into the car park, found 25 disabled spaces and none in use I have no problem with them using them very temporarily. I think the problem comes about when people use them in busy car parks where a disabled person may actually need the space.

Could it be that they had to park there to be near the charging point?

"But it was as they stepped out of their cars - with Clarkson and May even standing on top of a disabled road marking that shocked viewers realised they had parked in disabled bays."

Sounds more like it was the Telegraph who were shocked to be honest.

Did anybody else notice the entire car park was empty? It looked like wherever they parked was shut at the time. Meaning they werent obstructing anybody.

Why do people people insist on watching Top Gear purposely to find something to complain about? Get a life.

Imagine if the disabled hoon came along after a tunnel run, they'd have nowhere to park frown

It looks like an empty car park, possibly closed (to the public) to allow them to use it, don't see what the fuss is about.

The fuss is because its Jeremy Clarkson, and anybody who doesnt watch Top Gear hates the man, and as you can see whoever wrote this moronic piece is very quick to point out Clarkson's disregard and ignorance, but made no mention of James May parking in the space next to him. Its all an attack on Clarkson as these stories usually are.

And they're frightened that because Clarkson's actually popular amongst normal people, that the rest of us will go 'oh, he did it, i must do it too' and comments of 'all motorists will now park in disabled bays' is a further example of the tell-the-public-what-to-do and treat-them-like-children mentality which New Labour filled this country with.

A small PR stunt IMO, Clarkson likes to keep himself/TG in the news every 4-6 weeks or so.

Private car park by chance? shut for the show by chance?

What if I painted a wheelchair sign on my drive?

Would kittens die if I used my drive?

Have never and will never park in a disabled bay

The fact these 'campaigners' think Top Gear is really powerful enough to control the actions of 32 million motorists which is why they feel the need to make a massive fuss about the smallest thing is quite hilarious.
