Single Seater Driving Experience - Anyone done one?

Tempted to book the Silverstone Single Seater Thrill for my brothers birthday. Just wondered if anyone has done this or done something similar and would recommend it? (Have seen it on another site for less than £100)

did the castle combe FF1600 experience, good fun but car was so slow and running awful road tyres. i was the fastest person there mainly on account of ignoring the instructor (and not changing down from 4th to 3rd at Camp) but at the speeds we were doing it was hardly necessary and overtaking people was fun.
the cars at silversotne look ok, not sure what there are, i think they are purpose built corporate jobbies rather than ex-racers but dont assume they will be as fast as they look. most experience days will have a rev limiter on them or be so undergeared you never get up to a good speed. also, check the circuit you will be running on, most likely its the stowe circuit which just isnt "silverstone"....

I did a formula ford and lotus 211 day at Mallory a few years ago. It was brill. However, it did serve to indicate how little talent I actually have behind the wheel... I'd love to do another or get a track car, but funds aren't there at the momment sadly.
Editted to add that I'd definately recomend the Mallory on as there are no pace cars in the single seaters and the instructors in the two seaters and nromal cars are very encouraging. The instructor in the Lotus I drove got me to go a lot faster than I would have done otherwise (although as I say I'd realised my lack of talent byt then...)

Done Brands and Silverstone.
Totally rubbish and very frustrating I found.
They do a halfday at Bedford now where you can drive their awesome single seater which is totally off the charts.
You get to drive it HARD and get a really good video as well afterwards

Have done the single seaters and the Legends up at Knockhill, was lucky enough to have Gordon Shedden of BTCC fame as my instructor first time round, think he's probably a bit busy to be doing that currently though.
Really good time and looked after well, knockhill have replaced the single seaters since so can't really coment on the performance available now ....

Did a Donnington single seat day for my 21st - started off in Astra GSi's (showing my age with that one) and then into the single seat Formula Fords - good fun, though if I recall we were limited on exploiting the full RPM range. I recall one lad my age who thought he knew it all - it was highly amusing watching him spin off at the exit of Redgate on the first lap after we took to the single seats. He couldn't get back on the track, so his entire single seat experience was spent feeling like a t

Did one of these driving experience days a good few years back. Drove a Ferrari F355, MG Touring Car and then a single seater Formula Renault. The single seater blew the others out of the water! So raw and exciting.
I'd love to do it again if I had the opportunity and would recommend it to anyone. (Not so much the whole supercar experience package though, that was too restrictive.)

Must admit I found the FR a bit of a disappointment at Thruxton (fortunately the Viper wasn't).
A guy I worked with at DEC years back did the F1 experience Larousse (I think) used to run down in the mid/south of France.
Now THAT's a single seater experience!
The Palmersport days look about the best you can get in the UK - I keep suggesting it (without) success as a team building day at work...

When I did a single seater experience, I found it took me so long to adjust to the sensation of being 3 inches above the tarmac I found it tough to get much enjoyment from it. If there is decent instruction (I am guessing through a headset arrangement?) it would be more simple to exploit as you'd be getting coaching. Personally I found driving a super / sports car around a circuit much more enjoyable.
