Hi All,
I recently went for a test drive in one of these. I must say, they are great!
I rarely drive these day so I'm looking for a weekend toy and I believe the GP will soon become that new toy.
I think I've read just about every review on this car to date. Most/if not all critics rate the care very highly.
I'd like to know whether anyone on here has ever owned one? If so, what were like like to live with?

It is a strut though.
It's a bar to stop luggage getting in to the front in the event of an emergency stop/crash. It's not actually attached to the suspension turrets and doesn't provide any additional stiffness to the bodyshell.Anyway I digress, and I didn't mean to take anything away from your car. It still looks like fun!
went and looked at one for the Mrs. Looked great but we never even knew there wasw no back seats until we went to view it.
I should of looked it up.
I bought her a normal JCW instead, great to own. Power delivery and handling were great. Downside were the standard brakes and ours had no LSD so struggled for grip. I imagine the GP is far better as they have a LSD & JCW brakes standard.

I bought an 05 JCW about 2 months ago now.
Simply put I love it. It does everything I need from a car.
Head over to Totalmini.com and have a look over there, plenty of information and loads of owners. If you have the GP Number of the car they may be able to tell you some history on the car too.

My mate has got number 307, its an awesome motor. But your best bet is to get an extended warranty from Mini.
He's had £2/3k worth of warranty work done in the last 18months and his is a low milage car with full history. From memory its had; a power steering pump, new abs system, new ecu and something to do with the traction control.

Look carefully at the front end lower down, make sure paint is not flaking off some of the intake areas, well known problem on the GP. Not painted very well. (car was put together by some Italian company under license from Mini).
Poor fuel economy, but a complete blast to drive. Future classic, I think.
