It's not for me but for a mate. He's looking for a MK1 (or MK2) MX5.
His budget is £4000 tops.
Max mileage 45k as he is paranoid about cars with high milage.
He has found a black one, mint condition, all paper work, 28k miles for £4000. Not allowed to link through fear it'll get bought.

Any advice for him? Like to look for in a good one and so on.
Also links to decent ones would be appreciated.
I'll link him to this thread so just reply to him as if he were here just he won't comment as he isn't a member.

Cheers!

Is the search button not working, you lazy swine?

There's an MX5 forum full of useful stuff.

£4k buys a museum-piece Mk1, a pretty perfect supercharged Mk1 or any number of Mk2s.

Friend of mine just sold a Mk 1 for £4k, it had a Flying Miata turbo fitted together with every upgrade you can think of plus a huge file containing every invoice, total £17k! It's the most perfect MX-5 I've ever seen and if I had the money I'd have bitten his hand off!

So there are bargains out there.

(P.S. He only paid £4k for it too, although he spent an additional 3k during the year he had it, on refurbishing the interior, new seats, new stainless steel exhaust, new suspension etc.)
