Whates the best Allrounder Estate for under £15k?

211 E Class.
You could get a 300bhp E500 for that or possibly a 400bhp facelift (if you can find either of them).
Or get a facelift V6 soot chucker and stick a Brabus D3 chip on it.
I went from a C43 to a 211 E500 and find that it's a great family bus. Loads more room than a C in the cabin and boot and lots of useful features. Not least self levelling suspension (don't think any C's have that).
Failing that I'm sure a 5 series would fit the bill or a Mondeo if you can see past the badge.

I had a 3 touring, not much space as has been said. I also have a Vrs estate which is great for space and value for money, plus its quick-ish and not too bad on fuel, ie 33ish mpg overall. You can buy a new Vrs from about 16k if you use one of the brokers.The Vrs won't feel that quick after your AMG but 200bhp is just about enough in my view for this sort of vehicle.

Economy is also key, and teh 330D look impressive.

If you're getting an estate, might as well get a big one, and there's nowt with a greater load carrying volume.
I had 4 biggish blokes, 4 full sets of golf clubs and 4 trolleys (inlcuding one very gay electric old-lady style trolley with huge battery pack
) in comfort last weekend.3 series/a4 avant are no more practical than a Mondeo/Vectra hatchback.
