"Officers forced him to the side of the road.

"On closer inspection, following a lengthy explanation from Lu, traffic police eventually let him continue but on one condition - he purchase a pair of goggles so he could keep up with the speed limit."

It works, I suppose. Better than scrapping a pretty new looking vehicle and it has to earn its keep whilst its waiting for repairs eh?

I seem to remember I used to regularly see bare bus chassis being driven up the motorway (in the UK), driver in a full face lid, with a big bit of plywood in front of him

did I imagine this?

You can drive anything in most third world countries. hehe

The funniest thing I have seen was the trucks in Indonesia, all have to be equipped with those hose things so you can check tyre pressure when you are driving along. The rest of the truck could be junk, but you have to have those pedestrian grabbing hose devices running from the centre of each wheel.

I guess somebody in government owned the factory that makes them....
