I want classic car insurance at 20 with a bit of a chequered history (2 fault claims, 0 NCB) - is this possible and if so, who does it?

Yes, it is very often possible if you call specialist insurers such as Adrian Flux, Footman james and Peter James. You may not be able to get a quote online though. Out of interest what classic are you interested in?

I had classic insurance at 17.

Try an owners club, they usually have a deal with someone.

Admiral offer classic car insurance (depending on the car), no need to store in garage and can be main vehicle with commuting etc.

Do I need to phone them for it? Their standard quote system doesn't list a 1968 Toyota Corona in the options and it doesn't recognise the registration number either

Yes you'll need to phone they've only started doing classic insurance about 3 weeks ago, if the vehicle isn't on their list ask them to refer it to their underwriters to see if they can add it.

Is the Corona going to be your only car?

It's not being advertised yet, they're going for a soft launch.
That's why you're vehicle may not be on list yet, worth getting a quote as the policy is quite flexible for a classic i.e. You build up NCB, no limit on mileage.

Should be doable then. Not that much of a guide as I'm a few years older and without such a...ahem...chequered history, but on a Triumph 2000 of similar vintage I was paying £185 through Adrian Flux.
