What "car" thing to do in Manchester - mid week

Hi,
Anyone got any ideas of things 'car' related to do, or go and see in the Manchester area for a group of lads during a week day?
In short a company I deal with are organising an event afternoon for their customers, most of which have choosen golf...yawn, but the others want to do something 'car' like. Go-karting, OK - isn't really enough of us, 4-6 people, to make our own endurance race so... any other ideas?

Not quite car related but.... something I discovered whilst staying at my mates near Stockport.
Peeps in Manchester & possibly much of the North West, don't get up from their seats on bus until the bus actually stops at the stop. Where as in the Home Counties wait at the doors before they get off.
BTW this was over 11 years ago before everyone does it for H&S reasons.
