It's an ageless plate for a start. Sequential numbers, too. Some people get a hard-on for such things.

Say you build a replica Cobra and its based on Ford sierra or whatever they use. Odds are that it will either have a Q plate, or the one from the donor. So you could have something that looks like it dates back from the sixties on an 80's or 90's reg. Adding that reg, may enhance the look of the car for anyone who is not smart enough to realise its an airfix kit...

For the bloke who lives at no 345 and has those initials, that may be a bargain !

EAST MH is what is could read as - non-dating plates with letters and numbers that mean anything are worth a bit...

I lost out recently at the DVLA auctions for SOF 45T.....I bid up to £1,000 and it went for over £3k I think.

That's true. We just have to figure out what the heck EAST MH could mean to someone!

It's not a very exact science. People value numberplates however they want and, obviously, at the the end of the day it's only worth what someone is prepared to pay.

hehe
to your average joe it would look like any other plate, buy the car and sell the plate, don't tell the owner what its worth but I assume he/she probably knows?

Agreed - knew I was going to get called on that one, was too lazy to edit to make it clearer

It's a 3x3 plate, so not great. Numbers first which don't help. Put that on ebay and it would fetch £500-600 ish.

If the seller says it's worth £1,500-2,500 tell them to take it off and reduce the price by £1,500.
