The following experience prompts this question....

I exited a Dual Carriageway slip road and at the end the single lane it splits into 3 for a roundabout (a lane for right hand turn, middle for straight on and left to turn left and all sign posted and marked on the road).

I had to stop as the roundabout had traffic on it and it is customary to wait for vehicles to your right who are already on the roundabout.

So I'm waiting (in the middle lane) and so are the cars to my left and my right. Up comes a Merc e class at speed and blast his horn at me.

I wait for the last car to clear and then pull away and go straight on. Mr Merc is right up my chuff upto 70 (so close I can see his fat face and cannot see his car headlights, just half of the bonnet). My car is not super fast by not too slow and can hit 60 in 6 secs from a standstill. So I use what I have to open the gap and it does for a moment but he races up my backside again.

I have now caught up with vehicles ahead and back off and he then performs an overtake of not only me but around 5 or 6 cars ahead of me on a blind gentle bend at an estimated 80-90 at oncoming traffic.

What is wrong with some people when they get behind the wheel?
It's chumps like this who cause multiple car pile ups.

Does he think he is this guy? smile

So, what posses people to drive with such little regard for others and themselves?

It's because they are tts!

Just let them them go, don't be involved in their accident, which it sounds like that's what you did anyway.

Im away in Montenegro at the moment and the driving experience is interesting to say the least.

For instance you are meant to give way to people coming onto the roundabout, not that that ever happens, most drivers make daring overtakes at the wrong time, and there are things like zebra crossings, whilst inthe uk you would give way to someone on there, here, people just drive on with no consideration. Today infact someone made up their own lane between oncoming trafic and ours, ploughed through a zebra crossing we had gave way at narrowly missing pedestrians.

The speed limits are extremely low in compariosn to uk ones and one minute drivers will drive like an F1 racer, the next, like their grandmother! There are short dual carraigeways and drivers will hang around in the outside lane at about 30mph (thats the speed limit!) whilst other undertake and proceed to go slow too! It amazs me!

Rant Over...And calm smile
