Just had a baby, so the Boxster S had to go. Bought a Subaru Outback for familly hacking about but really miss having something a bit special.

Still need something pretty practical with buggys and baby seats in my life, but now settled on my shortlist of the M3 and the 650i. Both roughly the same money. M3 rawer and slightly faster I guess , but I must be getting old because I think the GT nature of the 650 is really beginning to appeal.

Am I mad? Also think it'll be cheaper to run on petrol and not having to suffer the M Tax.

I'd of thought the 650 would have the legs on the M3.. Specially when rolling.

It would also be my choice.

Seems to go with my thoughts of the 650 being the better bet. Cheers.

Just sold my E46 M3 Vert, and am looking after a mates 635D vert and the moment. M3 is more fun and feels more alive, but the 6 series is a nice thing to be in.

The 650i is better value and the rear seats are more comfy for passengers. If you can live with the slightly weird and awkward looks of the 6 series... I'd go for that. The interior is much nicer and more modern on 6 series. 6 series tend to be less abused and thrashed as well I would think

Can you actually fit an adult in the backs seats of a 6 series? They look tiny.

So long as I can get a 6 month old child in the back I'm happy.

Aren't they supposed to go in the front seats until 12 months old? facing the other way? something to do with their necks?

Ours is currently in the back in a rear facing Maxicosi. Hadnt realised there were different rules for different cars. confused

I think you have a rear-facing seat front or rear. But there are air bag related rules - IIRC it's all about NOT putting front facing kiddie seats in the front if you can't disable the passenger airbag. can't remember if this also applies to rear-facing seats too.

ours M3 e46 is fine for 3 of us 2 adults and a 4 year old, but new arrival means its a bit tight with a rear facing seat in the back. No problem with us 3 drove to South of france earlier this year......seat wise

this fits the best with isofix..has speakers built in too...

650i

It's cheap for a reason.

Check out the running costs.
