I've just seen about 10 of them drive through the centre of Liverpool.. I thought they weren't out yet?

It's got me thinking whats going on; journos, a LR test drive day, or have the looters managed to get into LR..

Or I'm just being stupid and they're already on sale.

As far as I am aware, the official release date is sometime in September. I have noticed loads of them down here, driving through Chobham.
A couple of weeks ago I was doing half days at work and coming home at lunch tiome, every day, I saw about 20-30 of them in the Chobham area. They all seemed to be doing some kind of circular route. On the Thursday, I had got so frustrated at seeing them almost line astern, it seemed like more of them than the total of all other cars combined, that I ended up following them. I ended up 4-5 miles out of my way and turned round and gave up (my short attention span!). All I could put it down to was some kind of marketing/sales training event from the LR dealer in Ascot as that seemed to be the way that they had either been coming from, or going to.

I would be interested to know if anyone on here knows what was going on, as I was going to try and get one of the drivers attention to ask. Unfortunately there weren't any opportunities to do this as we were never stationary log enough.

I kept seeing them in groups of two coming down the same street, then two were being followed by a Land Rover Discovery with "Land Rover Experience" plastered over it.

Manufacturers often do tours like this to create awareness for a new model, often looking for areas that suits their target demography. It's often cheaper and more effective than for example a billboard.

I thought that it may have been some kind of marketing thing for local awareness but they all seemed to have at least one passenger.

Dealer launch at Chobham test track for 3 weeks i believe, they have moved now, maybe up to Coweth Park.

I've been invited to a launch event with half a days off roading in September. Quite looking forward to it as we really like the look of it. Not sure it will be big enough for family duties though.

Cool, my heartrate has now reduced knowing this. I had been letting it get to me. (I can be a bit odd like that!)

They are called Evoque Unleashed Driving Days.

I think everyone who ordered one or registered an interest was invited to attend (subject to limited numbers).

Saw one driving through the Northumberland countryside last week with what looked like a family inside.

It was black with dark wheels and I must say it looked the absolute mutt's nuts.

I saw a load of them yesterday heading into the Albert Dock.

I've seen that many I didn't realise that they hadn't been released yet.

I went to my local dealer today, there launch is in September. So far 1400 have been pre-ordered if I placed my order today I could take delivery around March next year. If you wait until September they said you would be looking at 18 months.

Launch date is 8th Sept though PR events for people who have already ordered have been going on around the country for a few weeks. Unfortunately i couldnt make the one i was given due to work but apparently it was a slap up affair with an hours unaccompanied drive followed by a slap up meal.

I got my invite to the dealer launch event today in the post too, its on 8th Sept. Guess what Im 2pm - midnight at work and cant make that either!!!

Oh and i think slightly more than 1400 have been ordered.
