Why?

Should people be allowed to block the hard shoulder as they see fit?

A couple of my work collegues popped up on that, I called them to let them know they were on youtube and send them a link and they said he was being a nob but I think he made a bloody good point.

No they shouldn't, but it doesn't excuse Mr "HI IM FRIENDLY AND ASKING YOU QUESTIONS" manner.

Do you walk up to other people that are breaking the law, or infringing the highway code and ask them stupid questions on camera? No.

Absolutely, he has a great point. One of my pet peeves is people who don't think the rules apply to them just because they're in a hurry and everybody elses journey isn't as important as theirs.

I couldn't do what he did as I just couldn't be civil to the selfish tts. I'd be in a fight with the first one I spoke to.

I agree the guy has a point, but you could just as easily go out in London tonight, walk up to a hoody and say "You're rioting you are, do you know that's wrong?" why bother?

I doubt the people he spoke to on the hard shoulder will be embarassed enough to alter their habits, in fact, it didn't really look like they were that bothered at all.

Me neither, but maybe we should.

Maybe we should though, and they weren't stupid questions, just a little abrupt in his approach maybe.

The guy could quite easily have asked himself - "what are you doing walking around on the motorway, you do realise that if the traffic suddenly moves away you'll be endangering yourself, and others. and why do you have a stupid ear ring?"

I saw this earlier through Facebook, I think its a good idea, fact is the people on the hard shoulder are in the wrong, they shouldnt be on there, and they can't justify if, they are preventing emergency services helping people.

He should have stayed with his vehicle really, but I agree on the fact people should not be in the hard shoulder, totally stupid of them to do that.

It's always fun filtering through stationary motorway traffic on a bike avoiding the doors being flung open and people wondering around thumbup

True enough if all we relied on was embarassment but if they get 6 points in the post they'll have to think twice. I'm doubting the police would use that evidence but it would be nice. It's the same as the riots, we help the police to help us.

It would be unusual of the police to double the fixed penalty of 3 points and £60. Also the video shows them stopped on the hard shoulder, not driving, which is a £30 non endorsable fine.

Although now I'm just being a pedant.

Obviously it's just me that was wound up by his "passive aggressive" interview style, and that stupid lobe stretching ear ring.

Fair play to the guy. It annoys me when you see people driving up the hard shoulder or blocking it.

I hope this gets passed onto the police and these people get prosecuted! Why should these self minded people think they are above the law and secondly potentially put others lives at risk by preventing the emergency services from reaching them!
