My race MX5 (250BHP at the wheels, 1000KG wet) has got an old kevlar Sparco seat in it that nobody remembers the name of. The cover is a bit on the shabby side and the foam has lots its spring so I was hoping I might be able to find a cover and foam if I can identify the model of the seat.

As I mentioned though nobody can remember what the model is. PH normally has someone that knows something about everything so maybe one of you lot can identify it?!

The only thing I have to go on is that it has a similar shape to the old Monte Carlo model which would place it as around mid to late 90's vintage. It looks very similar to that model but it is not one...the harness holes are different and the cover on the Monte Carlo goes around the back.

Meaning to heavy or to light?

One of the classes it races in has a weight rule so it was never seriously stripped out. At the end of the race it needs to weigh 1050kg with driver.

It has a hard top which still has a glass window in it, the door trims are still there as are the electric mirrors. It also has a full cage. I could probably get it to 950kg in a weekend and I reckon 900 with some replacement panels.

Just thought it was heavy, that's all! Fair enough though! smile

No worries. Mazda did a pretty good job of getting the weight of the MX5 down. Stripping the carpets and interior panels makes SFA difference. The weight is in things like AC, power steering and the big rubbery supports / impact thingoes behind the bumpers.
