I immediately thought of going to the great fountain of knowledge that is PH.

I have just bought a car privately, not from a dealer, but it hasn't been taxed since May 2011. Hopefully it will pass an MOT, then I hope to tax it. The only worry I have is will there be a problem with taxing it as it has not been declared sorn. It has been kept in a private garage since May.

The MOT centre will collect the car for me on trade plates.

Speak to dvla ASAP if possible that is and explain details,you may need to sorn it yourself straight away but check,you are only liable for the time you've owned it.
